My Story…

I never looked like I had a problematic relationship with food, but for almost 20 years, I struggled with my own food and body issues. I had an intense addiction to sugar, and would skip meals in order to save calories to waste on sweets.

 Sugar was always used as a reward in my childhood, and I grew to feel that I deserved that reward as an adult.

I learned from a very young age to associate positive events and emotions with sugar. Then as I grew up and experienced a wider range of emotions, my brain associated sugar with happiness. So when I was happy, I craved sugar. And when I was sad, I believed that sugar would make me happy again. When I was lonely, I believed that sugar could fill that void in my life, even if it was only temporary.

Because of unhealthy eating and mostly skipping meals, I had unbearable pain in my stomach at all times. I did not feel well: there were problems with digestion, bloating, and, above all, moodiness. In attempting to find a solution to the problem, I realized that it was all related to insufficient nutrition. I was eager to feel good in my own skin once again and to eliminate the unbearable pain that plagued me day by day. This was a good enough reason for me to choose to research and study the psychology of eating.

With proper nutrition, I recovered from my sugar addiction, and I decided that I wanted to help others who found themselves in a similar situation. I will help you understand the root causes of your emotional eating habits, and how to nourish your body, mind, spirit, and emotions.

It is my mission to teach you how your relationship to food and body image are deeply related to experiences you may have had as a child or young adult, to your emotions, and to limiting beliefs you have formed about life and yourself.
